About me

Three careers, one throughline: making complicated things easier to understand.

My Background

I spent five years in accounting, followed by ten years teaching secondary math. It might not look like a typical path to design, but it shaped how I approach it. Teaching taught me how to beak down complicated ideas so they make sense to someone seeing them for the first time. Accounting taught me how to work within real constraints, not just ideal ones.

Both careers had the same thread running through them: taking something complex and making it usable. That's what drew me to design. I completed Designlab's UX Academy in May 2026, and during my final capstone I worked with TiriVelo, a pet care platform, designing their recruitment flow, trust and safety experience, and pet owner onboarding. They asked me back afterward, this time as Senior Product Design Intern, leading a team of six design interns on their website and design system. That work is still ongoing.

I'm early in my design career, and genuinely glad to be. I am bringing a decade of experience leading people, communicating clearly, and staying grounded under pressure, and I am putting all of it toward becoming a strong designer.
